Frank's Made Easy: Our Favourite Orders for a Balanced Life

Our go-to orders at Frank's - and why they work for busy, active people like you.

Here's something I want you to hear: eating well doesn't mean eating at home every single day. It doesn't mean saying no to every cafe date or bringing a sad Tupperware to the table while everyone else tucks in.

You can eat out, enjoy it, and still feel really good afterwards. You just need to know what to look for.

Frank's is where our team ends up again and again. Honestly - we spend a lot of money there and have zero regrets. The team is warm and welcoming, the food is genuinely delicious, and the menu has something for everyone. Whether you're training hard, eating for hormones, or just trying to get through a big week, there's an option for you.

Here are my current favourite picks - and why I love them.

1. The Aunt Bird - My Number One Breakfast

Roast kumara + pumpkin, broccolini, poached eggs, sauteed spinach + kale, edamame + rocket blitz, streaky bacon, turmeric nuts + seeds, smashed avocado, cashew cream | $27

If I had to pick just one meal from Frank's, this would be it. The Aunt Bird is the kind of breakfast that actually keeps you full. We're talking poached eggs, roasted kumara and pumpkin, sauteed kale and spinach, edamame, smashed avocado, and cashew cream - all in one bowl.

From a nutrition point of view, this plate is beautifully balanced. You've got protein from the eggs and edamame, healthy fats from the avocado and cashew cream, and complex carbohydrates from the roasted veggies. The greens add fibre and iron. The turmeric nuts and seeds bring in anti-inflammatory goodness. It tastes a 10 out of 10, and your body feels that way too.

"A well-balanced plate doesn't have to be boring. This one proves it."

You can also make it fully plant-based - just swap the bacon and egg for mushroom and quinoa. Brilliant.

2. The Chicken Buddha Bowl - My Summer Staple

Frank's Power Salad Bowl with grilled chicken | $26 + $4 protein add-on

In the warmer months, this is what I order every time. The Buddha Bowl base comes loaded with edamame, spice-roasted chickpeas, wakame, carrot, cherry tomatoes, mixed greens, kale, spinach, smashed avocado, and a lemon vinaigrette. Add grilled chicken and you've got a meal that is high in protein, high in fibre, and full of fresh colour.

Chickpeas and edamame are both brilliant plant-based proteins that also feed your gut bacteria. The greens are rich in folate and magnesium - two nutrients a lot of us are low in. The lemon vinaigrette helps your body absorb iron from the plant foods. Every ingredient is doing something useful.

It's satisfying, fresh, and never feels heavy. Perfect when you've got a big afternoon ahead.

Nutrition Note: Eating a variety of coloured vegetables in one meal is one of the easiest ways to support your gut health and energy levels. The more colours on your plate, the better.

3. The Paleo Smoothie - My Between-Class Boost

Banana, dates, cacao, Pic's peanut butter, linseed, sunflower seeds, almond, almond milk, peanuts | $13

This one saves me on the long days. When I've got a few classes back to back and I'm a little hungry but not ready for a full meal, the Paleo Smoothie is exactly what I need.

It's made with banana, dates, cacao, Pic's peanut butter, linseed, sunflower seeds, almond milk, and peanuts. That's a solid hit of natural energy, healthy fats, and plant-based protein - all blended together into something that genuinely tastes amazing.

Banana gives you quick-release energy and potassium. Cacao is rich in magnesium, which supports muscle recovery and sleep. Peanut butter and seeds provide slow-release fuel so you don't crash halfway through your next session.

Sometimes, after a big physical session, I order it alongside a meal. That's not overindulgence - that's just listening to what your body needs.

4. Warm Porridge - Because Comfort Food Is Real Food

Check the Frank's daily specials - topped with seasonal fruit

On a cold winter morning, there is nothing I want more than a warm bowl of porridge. Especially around my period - my body craves it, and I let it have it.

Oats are high in soluble fibre (specifically something called beta-glucan), which helps steady your blood sugar and keep you full for hours. They're also a source of B vitamins, iron, and magnesium. Topped with seasonal fruit and a drizzle of peanut butter, this is one of the most nourishing things you can eat.

We've been fed a lot of messages that carbs are bad. They're not. Your body - especially around your cycle - genuinely needs them. A bowl of porridge on a cold morning isn't a slip. It's a smart, kind choice.

"Letting yourself have what you need is part of a balanced life. That bowl of porridge? It's doing you good."

5. The Coffee - Because Life

Flat white with coconut milk | Iced long black in summer

Frank's uses Underground Beatnik Coffee - 100% ethical and organic. If you're going to have a daily coffee habit (and a lot of us do), this is a good one to have.

I'm a coconut flat white person in winter, and an iced long black person in summer. Both are great. The coconut milk adds a natural sweetness and contains medium-chain fatty acids, which your body uses for quick energy.

Enjoy your coffee. Just try not to have it on an empty stomach if you're sensitive to cortisol - pair it with food and your body will thank you.

The Big Picture

The point of all of this isn't to give you a strict list of "approved cafe orders." It's to show you that there are genuinely nourishing, delicious options out there - and you're fully capable of spotting them.

Eating well is not all or nothing. It's not perfect meals seven days a week, or nothing at all. It's eating foods that taste great and make you feel good, most of the time - and letting yourself enjoy a bowl of porridge or a Crazy Shake when that's what you need.

Frank's makes that easy. The menu is full of real ingredients, prepared with care. And the fact that you can sit there with your team, enjoy great food and great coffee, and still feel completely on track? That's exactly what a balanced life looks like.

You're already making great choices. Keep going.
